Here’s another must-read great Rose Garden analysis that I agree with from Gladiator seveneaglestar! Gladiators do NOT miss a thing!
One the great things I love about the Rose Garden scene beside the beautiful and words that were spoken by Fitz and Olivia is the fact that after they made their declaration/vows to each other, they didn’t kiss.
While them kissing would have made the scene feel more like a marriage, the fact that they didn’t kiss makes it their declaration of love deeper because it brought above the element of lust, which is what most people assume affairs to be about.
This action also brought to my attention the fact that whenever Fitz/Olivia are declaring their love for each other, they don’t kiss.
The Constitutions scene, no kiss.
When they gave each other comfort in her apartment.
The telephone scene, while they couldn’t kiss each other in those scenes. Those scenes were part of the package that put their love for each other above the lust they feel for each other.
But at the same time you get to see the deep and uncontrollable lust they feel for each other:
And Camp David:
This is for those who thing that Olivia and Fitz are confusing their lust for each other with deep love. That is NOT THE CASE!!! So please find another argument.
