Edison [To Olivia]: I’ve been racking my brain trying to find a reason why you’d be stupid enough to willingly attempt to defraud the american people and the only reason I can come up with for why you’d be in so deep is because you were his mistress.

That’s all Edison Davis had to hear to motivate him to find out how friendly Olivia was with Fitz.
When Olivia says with a little smirk that she is Fitz’s friend, it’s a flashback to when Fitz told her that they are “good friends.”
Based off the spoiler video for episode 2x11 - it looks like Edison is accusing Olivia of being in a relationship with Fitz.

I wanted to like Edison but he just rubs me the wrong way. He's too nice. Plus who constantly calls their ex for 3 years. Stalkerish tendencies anyone? Plus I still want Liv & Ed backstory. Both parties have claimed they were good together so something terrible had to happen to end their engagement right? If that's the case, why give it another go. Too much unanswered questions.

If Edison is in it then Scandal’s where all the love interests is twisted beyond belief.

Olivia Pope’s Jean Fares Couture was simply stunning in Defiance. Love Edison’s reaction to it. (Olivia’s blushing and smiling?!) I’m just mad that a certain someone never got the chance to scoop her out in this dress. Lyn Paolo and Kerry Washington couldn’t have picked a more stunning look for Olivia Pope.

Why I love this scene:
Olivia knows that Fitz is actually over her thanks to his approval of Edison as the new Senate majority leader. (And also Olivia didn’t twist Cyrus or Fitz’s arm to do so too.)
Edison for the first time is aware of Olivia’s emotions. “You okay?” “You don’t look it.”
I think Edison and Olivia’s relationship will change especially after Fitz got shot. Will Edison figure out that Fitz is the man that “hurt” Olivia? What will knowing this do to Edison? I like that Edison is someone relatively normal in Olivia’s chaotic world. I like the way he’s looking at Olivia. (Edison has it bad for Olivia but it’s nothing compared to the way Fitz looks at HALF of Olivia’s face. NOTHING!) I also like that this moment is something Olivia would probably go back to when she first see Fitz in the hospital. #GladiatorCandleVigil
